my favorite kind of birthday cake is yellow with lots of creamy milk chocolate frosting. rainbow sprinkles are cute, but not necessary. it's the frosting that's important. what's you favorite kind of birthday cake?? (meagan i would appreciate it if you would comment on this)

Random Day Thursday.

if i had to choose between cleaning a toilet and vacuuming, i would totally prefer cleaning the toilet.

What Happened??

Today I decided to accessorize my bathroom. I was bored with the blue, white, and beige color scheme and thought i need to cheer this room up with some color! sooo yesterday i bought an amazing shower curtain with pretty flowers and butterflies that accented colors such as purple, yellow, pink, and green. I put it up today and thought, i need a new rug and few things to tie it all together with a certain color.(can u tell i get into this home decor crap??) Yellow first came to mind, but thought it would clash with the beige counter top. bummer i really like yellow. purple and green just weren't contrasting enough with the blue. shucks, i love green and purple. lastly was pink. pink??? well shoot,.... i don't want no pink bathroom. i'm kinda anti pink and kinda proud of it. maybe some clothes here and there, but pink in a bathroom??? pink in my everyday life?? i don't think so. so i shop around hoping for some inspiration when i run into a very inexpensive rug set of 2, plus a toilet cover all in pastel pink. it was just too convenient and i thought it is a pastel pink. if i hate it, i can return it. so i go home, clean the bathroom, and test my new accessories. i stand back and take a good look at what i've accomplished and realize how girlie i've become. sadly, i liked it. i really liked it. me, deidra, likes butterflies, flowers, and pink. what happened??

I've decided that every Thursday shall become "random posting" day. Last Thursday you learned about the castle on 840. This week I would like to talk about.. oregano.

Thought I would share this.

A member of my church who grew up in a city near bolixi, mississippi, just returned from visiting his hometown. Although several of his relatives now have nothing, they all are so thankful to be alive. his parents, now retired, had built a church almost sixty years ago and for many years it has been a shelter for hurricanes. The current pastor, an italian man from chicago, had just moved himself, his wife and his 2 young daughters a couple of months ago. this was someone i'm sure knew nothing about hurricanes...lol. Shortly before the attack of Katrina, the family decided not to evacuate the city and stayed in the shelter of the church, even though it was recommended that they leave. the pastor said that he felt that God in some way was telling him to stay and so he obeyed him. Needless to say, the hurricane was fierce and during the worst of the storm, the church began to flood. the salt waters rose to a good five feet, forcing the family to the second floor of the church. All the while, the pastor was second guessing what he thought God was trying to tell him. it wasn't long, however, until he heard people banging on the church door. people literally swam to the church in hope for shelter. the pastor saved so many lives that night and most of them were children. if it wasn't for his incredible obediance to his faith, he probably wouldn't have been there.
i just thought this story was amazing and had to share it.

i'm bummed. I don't wanna work on Saturday!!! I don't need any overtime!! I had some last week and that was enough! I wanna do something cool and hang out with my friends all weekend!!! i miss you guys! why did i say i was available!! stupid stupid stupid!

this week's random thought

today i was driving on 840 on my way to murfreesboro, tn and i saw this castle on a cliff. i was like woah, how cool.

What's goin on???

For the past 3 months my roommate and his girlfriend have been sharing a car. Particularly in the last couple of days, i come home, excited to see that my roommate's car isn't home and figure i have the luxury of having a spacious apartment to myself. So throughout the rest of the evening, i claim territory in pretty much every room. i'm chatting on the computer, i put a movie on, and later play and sing a song i've been writing on the piano. while i'm singing of course, i take liberty of my apt's awesome acoustics, only to find out that my roommate is upstairs in his bedroom sleeping. i had no idea. i apologized even though he really didn't seem to care. a couple of mornings later, i awoke on a saturday and saw once again that his car was gone. i was like "sweet! a saturday to myself." so i get up, crank up the news, turn the radio on in my room, even played my demo for a while. i think it was around 2:00pm when i had heard someone get in the shower. it was his girlfriend. apparently she has been working the "all nighter" shifts and sleeps more during the day. again, i felt kinda dumb and embarrassed. now i'm just so confused!! i'm always trying to be quiet all the time now cuz i don't wanna wake anyone up. but i don't even know if there's even anyone here!! and i'm suddenly artistically constricted...lol it's not musician friendly at the moment.
*sigh* i need to learn how not to care bout what people think and just do whatever and not care about it..i'm so worried that i'm not gonna be a good roommate.

oh my goodness. today me and my friend meagan purchased some ice cream along with some cookie dough at kroger today. get a load of this.. cake batter with fudge ripple. i'm eating some right now. it's beyond amazing.... i just can't wipe the smile off my face right now..
